LightMed provides on-site medical services for construction, civil engineering, energy, utilities, manufacturing and remote projects across the UK.
We supply first responders, paramedics, nurses and ambulance cover. We can also coordinate occupational health, on-site clinics, drug and alcohol testing, workforce wellbeing and clinical governance.

Industrial sites do not stand still. Work areas move, subcontractors change and a straightforward ambulance route can become blocked by plant, security or temporary works.
Some projects need a paramedic during a high-risk lift or shutdown. Others need a staffed medical room, regular occupational health clinics and an emergency response plan that covers every shift.
We start by reviewing the work, workforce, site access, shift pattern and existing emergency arrangements. We then recommend the staff, equipment and services the project needs.

Construction site medical coverMedical staff, equipment and response planning for projects where distance, terrain, access controls or local ambulance response times create additional risk. We support remote construction, infrastructure, energy and utility work, including projects with long shifts or limited access to nearby healthcare.
Remote site medical supportAmbulance standby and HCPC-registered paramedic cover for higher-risk work, planned shutdowns, outages, demolition and other activities where immediate clinical care may be needed. The service can be planned alongside your rescue team, site control and existing emergency procedures.
Ambulance and paramedic coverOccupational health support for industrial and construction projects, delivered with accredited partners where required. Services can include health surveillance, safety-critical medicals, fitness-for-work assessments and support with referrals or returning to work.
Occupational health servicesRegular medical clinics give workers somewhere to discuss an injury, illness or health concern without leaving the site unnecessarily. Clinics can run weekly, monthly or as part of a permanent site medical service. Reporting focuses on anonymised trends that your health and safety team can use.
On-site medical clinicsDrug and alcohol testing carried out in line with your workplace policy and agreed escalation process. Support is available for random testing, pre-access checks, post-incident testing and testing where there is reasonable cause. Employment decisions remain with your organisation.
Workplace drug and alcohol testingPractical health support for workers, including mental health signposting, fatigue awareness, musculoskeletal concerns and health campaigns. The aim is to give workers an approachable first point of contact and help them reach the right service when further care is needed.
Workforce health and wellbeing servicesClinical oversight for the staff and services working on your project. This can cover medicines, patient records, clinical standards, audits, incident reviews, safeguarding and the escalation of clinical concerns.
Clinical governance for industrial medical servicesA Medical Emergency Response Plan, often shortened to MERP, sets out how your site will respond when someone is seriously injured or becomes unwell. We review foreseeable medical risks, access and evacuation routes, communications, available resources and handover to the emergency services. The plan can also be tested through drills.

Depending on the project, this may include site medics, paramedics, ambulance standby, medical clinics, occupational health support, drug and alcohol testing and emergency planning.
Event medical cover is designed for a temporary gathering of visitors, spectators or participants. Industrial medical cover works within an organisation's health and safety arrangements. It may need to account for shift work, site induction, permits, rescue plans, occupational health requirements, incident reporting and long-term changes to the project.

Not every project needs a paramedic. The appropriate clinical grade depends on the foreseeable injuries and illnesses, site access, working activities, workforce and the time it may take external help to arrive. We will review those factors before recommending a first responder, emergency medical technician, paramedic, nurse or mixed team.
