Venue medical services
Medical cover that fits your venue
LightMed provides medical cover for entertainment venues, with staffing and equipment planned around your opening hours, audience and programme.
Whether you need regular weekend cover, support across a season or additional medical teams for your busiest dates, we work with you to put the right arrangements in place. Our service can include medical-room setup, equipment management and ongoing reviews, giving your team a clear point of contact for medical provision.
Regular cover across your programme
A venue's medical needs can change from one booking to the next. A seated performance, standing concert and late-night club event may take place in the same building but need different arrangements.
We review your programme, expected attendance, layout and previous incidents to recommend suitable cover. You receive a written proposal explaining the staffing, equipment and hours included, with arrangements for additional dates or changes to the schedule.
We can plan provision for:
- Regular opening nights and weekly events.
- Live music and entertainment programmes.
- Seasonal bookings and recurring performances.
- Individual events requiring additional clinical support.
- Venue operators coordinating cover across several spaces.

A medical service your team understands
Before the first deployment, we agree how medical staff will work with your duty managers, security, front-of-house teams and welfare personnel.
This includes how staff request assistance, where patients can receive care and how the team reaches different parts of the building. We also establish access for attending ambulance crews and the arrangements for escalating an incident.
Your venue plan gives the medical team a consistent briefing and helps your staff understand what to expect when someone needs help.
Staffing matched to the venue
We recommend the number and clinical grade of staff after reviewing your requirements. Depending on the service, this can include first responders, emergency care assistants, technicians and registered healthcare professionals.
The assessment considers your audience, operating hours, treatment facilities and the demands of the programme. We also consider how cover will be maintained when staff are treating a patient or responding elsewhere in the building.
Where paramedics form part of the provision, they are HCPC-registered. Our staff work within defined scopes of practice, supported by clinical policies and agreed escalation arrangements.
Medical-room setup and equipment
We can assess an existing first aid room or help you establish a suitable treatment space.
The room needs to be accessible, private and practical for patient care. We consider lighting, hand hygiene, ventilation, stretcher access and secure storage, together with its position in relation to the venue's busiest areas.
Our agreed provision can include:
- Treatment furniture and clinical equipment.
- Emergency response bags and a defibrillator.
- Consumables and appropriate protective equipment.
- Secure storage for equipment and medicines where required.
- Arrangements for cleaning, clinical waste and replenishment.
- Equipment checks and servicing coordination.
Equipment can arrive with the team or remain at the venue under an agreed arrangement. Your proposal explains ownership, storage responsibilities and what is included in the ongoing service.
Mobilisation before the first shift
We work through the practical arrangements with you before cover begins.
01
Review the venue
We review your requirements and visit the venue where needed, including the programme, layout and existing medical arrangements.
02
Agree the service
We agree the staffing, facilities, equipment and communication procedures, alongside any responsibilities that sit with the venue.
03
Brief the team
Before the first shift, the medical team receives a venue-specific briefing. We confirm access, reporting arrangements and the process for raising operational concerns.
04
Keep the contract working
For a recurring contract, we agree how future dates are confirmed, how changes are requested and how staffing issues will be escalated.
We aim for continuity and make sure anyone joining the rota has the information needed to work at your venue.
Reporting that helps you plan
We agree the reporting you need at the start of the service. This can include activity summaries, recurring incident locations, busy periods and practical issues affecting the medical response.
Clinical records remain separate from routine management reporting. We use anonymised information for service reviews and handle any necessary individual disclosures through the appropriate process.
These reviews help us assess whether the provision remains suitable as attendance, event types or opening hours change.
Why choose LightMed?
LightMed brings its event medical experience to the planning and delivery of venue services. We understand the practical work behind a deployment, including staff compliance, equipment preparation, access and communication with the wider team.
Our staff checks include identity, right to work, qualifications and applicable professional registration, alongside our DBS checking arrangements. Clinical policies and defined responsibilities support the care delivered on site.
You receive a clear service specification and a named operational contact. We explain our recommendations, agree what is included and keep you informed when an issue needs your attention.

ViewFrequently asked questions
Can you provide regular weekly medical cover?
Yes. We can plan recurring cover around agreed operating nights and hours, with additional provision for particular events. The contract sets out the booking schedule, staffing and arrangements for changes.
Can you work alongside our existing first aiders?
Yes. We agree how your first aiders and our medical team will work together, including when to request assistance and how to hand over a patient. Their roles form part of the venue's medical arrangements.
Do all venues need paramedics?
The appropriate clinical grade depends on the venue and its activities. We review the risks, previous incidents and required level of care before recommending a team. Your proposal explains why that provision is suitable.
Can you equip and manage our medical room?
Yes. We can include room assessment, equipment provision, stock management and agreed maintenance arrangements. We clarify which facilities the venue supplies and which elements LightMed manages.
Can cover change for busier events?
Yes. We can plan additional resources for dates with different attendance, audience profiles or activities. Providing your programme in advance helps us assess and arrange those changes.
How much does venue medical cover cost?
Pricing depends on the staffing, hours, location, equipment and facilities required. A recurring proposal sets out the agreed shift costs, any setup charges and how additional hours or services are charged.
