FREC 3 - First Response Emergency Care (Level 3)
The recognised pre-hospital response qualification for event first aiders and community responders.
FREC 3 is the standard qualification for confident pre-hospital response at events and in the community. It builds on basic first aid with structured patient assessment, more substantial trauma and medical content, and the use of additional response equipment.

What we’ll cover
- Patient assessment using the primary survey
- Casualty handover (SBAR / ATMIST)
- Catastrophic haemorrhage and major trauma
- Airway management with adjuncts
- Cardiac arrest management and AED use
- Medical emergencies - chest pain, asthma, seizures, anaphylaxis
- Use of oxygen and entonox where indicated
What you’ll leave with
- Qualsafe-certificated FREC 3 (RQF) qualification on completion
- Practical experience handling event-style scenarios
- Confidence to assess and hand over a patient under pressure
